Split peas = yummy trick
When I was growing up my mom made sure she made a big deal out of fun Holiday's,
(you know exactly what I am talking about if you have ever been to her house around Christmas time)
so I have really tried to keep that tradition going for my family. Being April fools, and after such an awesome one last year (thanks Sara) I decided to have Grandma and Grandpa Mortenson over for a April fools dinner. First we had these.....
Split Pea and ham Soup and...Mashed potatoes and gravy with lots of butter!!So we had desert first and then we had to pick a numbered sac that had our utensils in it that we would be eating and drinking with, like... an ice cream scoop and a pie plate..... Some tongs and a measuring cup.....
Or maybe a spatula and a cake pan.
All in all it was a good time and...a real big mess!!

very cute! You go all out for April fools! love that idea.
Jaime: You and Julie take after your Mom so much - and I even think you outdo her. So clever!!!I'm so glad you have a permanent record of all the fun things you do. Your children will love reliving these events when they get older.
You are the most amazing mom EVER. You give me such good ideas. I can't wait until Logan (and this new babe) are old enough to be able to enjoy such things. I'll be calling you every day for new activities. What was the butter part of the mashed potatoe cupcake?
Jena- it's a yellow starburst!
That is so cute, love your family!
So creative. Creativity is not my forté in motherhood and I need to do better. Hope you don't mind if I steal some ideas:)
Oh Jaime, you never cease to amaze me. Why can't I be a cutie pie mom too? It's just not how my brain is wired, but I am going to try more~
You are so creative... I definately need to take a page from your book. So cute!
