smitten

We are home and happy!

This little guy is as sweet as can be. The labor and delivery went perfect and smoothly. It took a little longer than I thought, come to find out I was delivering an almost 9lb baby!! My biggest for sure!

It has been a challenging recovery for me, but only because I had emergency eye surgery 2 days before I delivered. It has been awful to see your brand new baby through only one eye. I'll fill you in on the surgery in another post. (it's yucky)Ellie went straight from the hospital to Corvallis with Grandpa and Grandma Olsen so she hasn't been able to see her new little brother much but Macie is getting her fill....she LOVES him.
Connor on the other hand is still a little nervous to touch him and has only held him once. Which as you can see did not go all so well. But boy does he have tonz of questions for me about why "he sounds like a goat" and he thinks it is beyond hilarious that I feed him milk like a mama cow.
Thank you to everyone who has been so kind to us and helped us out over the past week. We are really spoiled with wonderful friends and family.

Fancy and Strong... all in one day.

Last Saturday was a busy day for all of us Olsen's.
I spent a day or two the week before making Eye Spy Bags for a Rummage/Craft sale for Ellie's school. I rented a craft table with 3 other talented friends and we spent all morning chatting in a hot gym with one another. That's about it! None the less it was fun and I was in good company.
While I was at the Craft sale, Scott got the kids ready and when I got home it was off to our local Borders Book store to meet 5 super hero's and Fancy Nancy.
It was a real treat for Connor to get to meet Spiderman and Superman. He put on all of his Superman gear (including his Superman piggy bank, hehe) and walked around getting signatures.
Sadly this is the best pic I got of Connor with Superman. Mind you, our little town isn't cool enough to have a normal sized Borders so we have a mini one and I have never seen it so PACKED!! I was lucky to get any pictures at all.
And Fancy Nancy is one of Ellie's favorite books so it was fun to get to meet her and take a picture. Even if she was a scantily clad 15 year old :)

Baby next week!

This pregnancy has gone by so fast!

And we are all ready RIGHT NOW to meet this little guy. I have to say that I have had it quite a bit different this time around. I mean, I hear about all of these women in their 40's getting preggo right now and I don't know how they are doing it. They must have amazing amazon bodies because I feel like with this fourth pregnancy I am falling APART!

For example, I have never had such aching in my hips and it takes me at least 5 min. to get out of bed every morning. (you should hear the noises)

Also, this pregnancy I am anemic. I didn't even really know what that was till now, and I am on a strict order to take my iron pills daily.

I just found out at my last appt. that my blood platelets are low and that I have to take steroid pills, starting tomorrow (that p.s. will make me a total B*#@%) until they can get my levels up. Oh yeah... and if they can't get my platelet levels up.... they won't give me an EPIDURAL!!
I know all you "she women" out there that did it naturally are saying, so what. But that's not how I roll! I want to enjoy my last delivery. I am freaking out here!!

Last but not least, I have a big dark spot that I am now seeing out of the corner of my left eye that I have yet to get checked out. Yikes!

So all in all I feel like I am one prescription drug away from sucking dinner from a straw while watching the Lawerance Welk show from the comfort of my Hover Round chair.
Has anyone else felt 90 years old on their last pregnancy?

On the flip side, I am glad to be healthy and have the last member of our family coming to meet us in 6 days. I am almost dilated to a 3 and my tummy dropped about 2 weeks ago.

We are praying for a healthy boy and a speedy delivery!

Say What?

Yesterday Macie took my hand and let me all over the house talking to her self under her breath and we finally ended up in my bathroom. She pulled the shower curtain back and looked up at me while pointing to the drain.
Macie- "Look Mommy"
Me- "What am I looking at Macie?"
Macie- "It's the circle..."
Me- Puzzled look? "Yep"
Macie- With a very serious face... " The circle. The circle of Life"

I am really cracking down on my kids and their chores. Today they wanted to go to the dollar store and pick something. I told them they had to do their chores in order to earn the money.
Connor asked me if watching a movie was a chore. I said no. Then he asked if playing his leapster was a chore. I said no. Then I hear him go in the other room and ask Ellie what he could do for a chore. She said " You could clean your room or your toys."
Connor then asked "What are you doing for a dollar?"
Ellie answers " I am waiting for GiGi (her great grandma) to send me a card."
hummm...Looks like we need to have a lesson on chores at our house.

The Farm

We took the kids on a quick trip up to Medford this weekend. Grandma and Grandpa Olsen found a great place to take kids called The Farm. It is this adorable little farm that has a huge petting area for kids that included animals of all sorts.
Goats, and baby goats.
.
Llama's.
Deer.
Ducks.
Pigs.
And believe it or not Kangaroo's.
They have a whole other section for pony rides. Macie could have stayed here all day and almost cried when she had to get off.
They also loved the "Agventure" section where they had tractor races, digging for dino bones, a horse obstacle course, and a giant corn box.
Super cute place and the 71 degree weather just made the day that much more perfect. Thanks so much Grandma and Grandpa!!

Fiesta!

Last week we went over to my parents to finish up celebrating Scott's birthday. We had my Dad's famous chimmichanga's and my mom's famous German chocolate cake,
(Scott's favorite kind of cake)
After dinner we went on a walk to my parents neighbors house and Macie got to live out one of her dreams...she is in love with horses and she got to feed "Tinker Bell"
She was in heaven!!
We ended the night outside with a pinata for the kids...well the kids and Grandpa.
We had a blast and Scottie got spoiled!

Fro- Yo!

When Scott and I were first married, we ended a lot of our dates with the local Hogi -Yogi in Rexburg.
.
Yummmm
I am a sucker for frozen yogurt, so when I heard about this place;
I thought it was the greatest idea. Unfortunately the closest one is...not close to me at all.
So the other night Scott and I were on a date and discovered that we too, little Klamath Falls, has it's own Frozen Yogurt shop called The Frosty Spoon up on campus (by blockbuster)!!
For the love... I am addicted and now so are my kids.
Great FHE spot, all you Klamath locals. You HAVE to try it out and keep it in business.
PRETTY PLEEEEEASE!!!!
