I gave the dress another go around and swapped the border fabric from the bottom to the top, also I put in some pleats and that seemed to help it fit much better.
SO cute! I just bought material to start a similar project, although I am not half the seamstress as you are so I don't know if I will be showing it off on my blog! Wish me luck!
You are amazing Jaime...I suppose you made these up without a pattern?? If so I kinda hate you! I sew pretty good, but gotta have the good ol' McCalls there in front of me. Love Julie's comment. HAAAA!! Where did you get such dang cute fabric?? If they have that in Klamath I wanna go shopping when I come!! Hope to see your family then....

where did you add the pleating? Super cute, I'm an xious to get my sewing machine working agian so I can do another one.
